Funny Faces

I pulled this colored image out of the back and dusted it off so I could finally put it onto a card. I forgot how long ago it was... but I'm not counting.  LOL  This is Funny Faces rubber stamp that you'll find at Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  I think these are such fun kiddos and have enjoyed colored it a second time.

There is lots of Creative Color Placement on this card... enough on the face that I'll call it Extreme Color Placement. Below you'll see the before and after of the faces.

Cauli

Here's my next monster from the Edward's Crochet Imaginarium by Kerry Lord pattern book. This one was my own idea. I wanted try introducing a color gradually, change colors on the toes for claws, and finally tackle those elusive spots.

This monster I'm calling "Cauli" because the top head part looks like a head of cauliflower.  I thought the slow addition of color was a great transition and I wish I would have started it sooner, maybe 2 rows earlier on the head, 8 rows earlier on the body and 4 rows earlier on the hands.  The toes weren't as bad as I thought they would be and the color change turned out to be a breeze.

From this view point you can see the color change nicely on the head. The spots on the back were difficult to learn but once I figured it out, were easy to add in. I wish TOFT would have had a video of that stitch because I felt their book was missing at list one more picture on it.  But my Mum came to the rescue and hunkered down to figure it out for me.

My only regret is I wish the legs were longer but the kids are enjoying this one so that's all that really matters.

Polka Dot Pals Kacee

This is one of my all-time favorite cards for the season - I enjoyed using Polka Dot Pals Kacee but the best part came from a friend, Janice, who challenged me to color her using her brilliant idea and color scheme. She wanted to see it in a different light, and I too shared in that thought, so we challenged Jennifer to join along. All three turned out fabulous!

I started with the same color scheme and Creative Color Placement as Janice's original card and worked on making it more 3D... to "pop off the page" as she put it.  The spider on her card was my absolute favorite so that's where I began. I kept with the blacks and reds but for the eyes and the darkest black tone, I used my BV colors instead. Sometimes adding in an unexpected color goes a long ways to add depth.

After she was finished, I peeked at Jennifer's card and fell in love with her take on it. She did an incredible job!  Her use of added webs was the icing on the top and an amazing addition.  So when I put my Pal on a card, I had to add some of those webs so I could be "cool" like her.

In the end, each of the cards have their own character and it's one of the reasons why I like Polka Dot Pals so much. With the "blank faces" anything is possible!  Hope you enjoyed this creation and thank you Janice for providing some much needed fun.  :D  Happy Halloween!

The colors I have used on Polka Dot Pals Kacee are:

T1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8
BV02, 04, 23, 25, 29
R11, 14, 29, 59

Polka Dot Pals Vickie

Here's a project I've done using Polka Dot Pals Vickie and Little Houses from Little Miss Muffet Stamps, rubber stamps. I stamped Polka Dot Pals Vickie, masked her, then stamped the two houses in the back to create a scene. The list of colors is listed below, however, I think the pictures are much brighter here.

There is a new challenge at Little Miss Muffet Stamps Challenges that opens today - link up any of your creations this week for a chance to win and be selected as the top picks. Top picks have a chance to earn a free stamp and be featured on the Customer Appreciation Day.

Today is also the start of the next Guest Design Team for LMMS. Welcome to all the new members and I'm so excited to get to know you a little more. :D

Steve

Here's another crochet monster from Edward's Crochet Imaginarium by Kerry Lord. This one isn't actually a monster, as you can see, but it still uses the same base, arms and legs pattern. The ears and tail are modified a little from the pattern and the eye patch, nose and paws were easily made up.

This is "Steve" which is named after Steve Burns for Blue's Clues. (Hence the blue paw which is handy for leaving clues.) The idea came about after seeing these adorable Scrappy the Happy Puppy Slippers from One & Two Company.  I only had a little blue so I did the ear first and was hoping I could get another arm but there was just enough for a print. ... and a blue paw print for us means it's gotta be a Blue's Clue!  So, this puppy's name had to be Steve.

I have done the "required three" monsters and so now I can have creative freeform on any other monsters but my goal is to use up the extra yarn I have. This one, however, I went out and bought some brown and blue - so if that is a telling sign then I might not ever use up all the extra yarn. LOL

Fluffy

I have completed another creation from Edward's Crochet Imaginarium by Kerry Lord. This one is Fluffy because of all the loop stitches on the body and ears. I don't think I'll do that again and considering I had to redo the body twice, this counts as three.  Maybe?

This monster is more of a bunny which was by design.  She has one bow, one sock (with another bow so I guess that means two bows) plus a bracelet made from extra crochet markers. I didn't like using them away so this was a great donation. She also has one green eye and one blue eye.

Peppermint

This is my second crochet project from the book Edward's Crochet Imaginarium by Kerry Lord. We call him Peppermint. This was much easier than the first plus I didn't have to fret over choosing the elements.  Sometimes narrowing down the which arms or lets is the hardest part. Now on to the next one. LOL

Strawberry Sunbonnet Wagon

I've added to my envelop project with another image on an inside flap. This one is Strawberry Sunbonnet Wagon rubber stamp from LMMS. I've stamped it twice to get the double wagon. You can see the colors I used below.  This project was started so long ago that I've already expended the first deadline but have set another for mid September and hope to make that one.  LOL

For this panel, I also added some Make it Craft chipboard embellishments, but also lacy ribbon, gems, doily and cheesecloth, as you can plainly see all that.  :D

There's a new Anything Goes Challenge that opened up today - you can pop over and add your favorite creation from this week.

Welcome to a new Anything Goes challenge at Little Miss Muffet Challenges.  For this week, I created a summer card using Polka Dot Pals Kyree.  However, she's not available in the store but you don't want to miss out on these details to get her... she's free!

Little Miss Muffet Stamps is being featured in this month's issue of Simply Cards and Papercraft Magazine (issue 166).  You get to play with this Polka Dot Pal along with some coordinating images that are in this issue.

The face was added with a Polka Dot Pals Add-on Face or you can color your own or leave it blank.  Then, since you'll love coloring her, you'll want to grab some more Polka Dot Pals in the LMMS store.  Of course!

Edward the First

This is my first crochet project which was from the book Edward's Crochet Imaginarium by Kerry Lord.  It's such a fun book with flip pages to help choose the heads, arms and legs. The instructions were easy enough to figure out after a lesson from my sister first. I'm not sure crochet is my thing yet but I'm willing to give it another try.

Trees Silhouette

I'm getting ready for some snowing thoughts so I used the new Trees Silhouette from DoveArt Studios that was recently released and created my own snowy scene. The stamp was colored with the blues then I went back over the image with a white gel pen.  Lastly, there was some sparkle spray that I tried out but it created blobs so I try to ignore those.

These are the Copic markers that I used on Trees Silhouette...

The smile sentiment is a Make it Crafty Chipboard Embelishment.

There's a new challenge opening up today so be sure to head on over to link up an Anything Goes project.  Plus there are four new stamps released today that are adorable, if I might say, and you can find those in the LMMS New Release section.

Holiday Treats

There is a Surprise Holiday Release from DoveArt Studios coming out. You'll find them now available in the store at CCDesigns and for my project I used Holiday Treats

I didn't use any decorative paper this time around since the image was going to be colorful enough that I wanted it to stand out the most.  The black paper was splashed with a little white paint that was watered down.  Then the cheesecloth was added to help it feel more "homemade" from the kitchen.

If you would love to see more creations of the wonderful new release, these other DT members rocked it and will be posting their creations this week also:

Dorinda
Jennifer
Sue

Plus you'll find these and more DoveArt inspiration over on the DoveArt Studios blog.

Polka Dot Pals Sally

Here's a fun project that's been in the making for quiet some time.  Two years ago near Valentines I found a Hallmark card that was absolutely perfect.  It was one of the motion and sound cards and when it was opened, there was a hamster bouncing on a hip-hop ball.  I had to buy it just so I could use it with Polka Dot Pals Sally... also on her hip-hop ball.

There's loads of pictures in this post plus a little video at the end too.  Lot's of eye-candy!  The sentiment was created using Chipboard Embellishments from Make it Crafty, colored with a black Copic marker and then some Sparkles glitter glue was added on top.

Polka Dot Pals Sally was colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Copic markers.  The hair, clothes, and polka dots are with the pencils then I did the skin and ball with the markers.  I did this mainly because I wasn't near my pencils but also because I wanted a soft looking skin.

The card opens from the left and just the grass part opens so the image can be seen when open or closed. The Hallmark card was cut apart and I kept the components together.  I then took two layers of cardboard and cut a center hole just large enough for the innards.  Here's what it looks like after I wrapped black cardstock around the back and over the edges.

I also salvaged the pink bouncing marks from the Hallmark card and used them on the inside of the card.  Here's what the card looks like when it's open.

Are you ready for the video?  This is just five seconds on Polka Dot Pals Sally bouncing on her ball with mad-giggle sounds. It's actually really funny to listen to and a lovely surprise when it's opened.  Bounce!

Theodore Birthday

This card uses Theodore's Birthday rubber stamp from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and I wanted to go for a bright and cheery look so I picked this rainbow paper.  I had planned to add a maze on the front but cut the paper before I remembered so I switched up the layout and ended up with this.

Here are the Copic markers I used...

YG93, 25, G40, B11, 15, 49
R20, 32, 05
E21, 23, 25, 27, 29
YR30, Y32, YR23
BV23, C2, C5, C7

The moon and stars are Chipboard Embellishments from Make it Crafty and I left them plain in color but added Sparkles glitter gel on top for some sparkle.
